What affects the price?
Live silver price
We always start from today's world market price for silver, quoted in euro.
Weight
Everything is weighed on calibrated scales. Non-silver parts such as steel knife blades and stones are deducted.
Silver purity
We test the purity — 800, 830, 925 sterling, 999 — using gentle methods, whether or not the item is hallmarked.
Collector value
Antique silver, signed pieces and collector coins can be worth more than their metal value. We assess that separately.
